I worked on this project while at Veridian Design alongside art director, Andi Counts. Aaron's wanted to show how far they've come since they first opened 55 years ago and reflect on their roots. I came up with the title "Ready for the Future. Reflecting on the Past." The title led us to consider how to deal with illustrating the growth from past to present and then proceeding into the future. We then decided that a lenticular would be an interesting way to handle this. On the cover of the report, we used a lenticular that changes from an old image of the store, to the company's mascot, to the store we all know today. We thought this was a very different and modern approach to showing their growth. Televisions are Aaron's best selling product. We took this fact and decided to use remote control-style buttons to take us into the past (rewind), the present (pause), and the future (fast-forward). The design also features paper and metal textures to give a sense of old and new.
